This weekend, I will hit a quarter of a century. That’s right, I’ll be 25 on August 17th! It feels amazing, because when I was a youngster, I never imagined myself here. I always just imagined myself where I was. I guess that speaks to both me living in the present and having a lack of foresight, haha.

Turning 25 may seem like a small deal to some, especially those who have reached and passed this age (much like how I sometimes feel when I see people celebrating turning 20), but the truth is, every age is to be celebrated. Every day is to be celebrated! After my god-brother passed last year, shortly before his 21st birthday, my frame of mind really shifted. Just as well, this past year has reminded me to enjoy all the moments I have, because life is so fleeting.

So, this post is a check-in with myself as well as a bit of an exposé into my little life + mind as a newly minted 25 year old.

10 fun facts about me

  1. I can whistle better than I can sing.

  2. My toes always crack when I walk - no midnight creeping for me.

  3. I have a congenital cataract in my right eye - young but wiiiiiseee.

  4. My favorite languages to study in school were Mandarin Chinese and Russian.

  5. Having long nails makes me feel like my hands are ashy. Strange sensation.

  6. I can’t count the number of times I’ve hit my head on a metro pole or toilet stall purse-holder-thing because of my height.

  7. I am a complete sponge - super impressionable.

  8. I fancy dark rooms more than anything - ask my family or former coworkers.

A couple selfies of moi throughout this past year. All different, but the same. I just noticed I like to cock my head in my selfies, haha.

I hope ya’ll enjoyed this fun little post, and maybe thought about some quirky attributes that are unique to you. I’m sure I’ll have way more learnings to share (and discoveries about myself) with this move to the UAE in just a few days.

Stay tuned!
